Boston University Bridge
Cambridge | Boston, MA
NASDI contracted to perform the thirty-thousand square foot bridge deck,
sidewalk and parapet demolition required to facilitate the rehabilitation of
the historic Boston University Bridge. The Boston University Bridge spans the
Charles River connecting Boston and Cambridge, MA. In order to maintain traffic on
this major transportation corridor, work was performed at night, in
multiple stages. The overall project duration is approximately two years.
DCR Access Road
Randolph, MA
NASDI performed the demolition of this 8,000 square foot bridge over State Route 24 in Randolph, MA. Due to heavy vehicular traffic on Route 24, all work was performed at night. The scope of work included the complete removal of the bridge decking, supporting beams, piers and abutments. On this project, NASDI coordinated with both the general contractor and the Massachusetts Highway Department to plan and to execute a safe and effective bridge removal.
Whitestone Bridge Redevelopment
Bronx | Queens, NY
The Bronx–Whitestone Bridge (referred to as the Whitestone Bridge) is a
suspension bridge located in New York City spanning the East River,
connecting the boroughs of Queens on Long Island and The Bronx via
Interstate 678. The bridge is operated by the New York City Metropolitan
Transit Authority, Division of Bridges & Tunnels. NASDI contracted
to perform the staged demolition of the structure at the
Bronx and Queens approach. The scope-of-work includes hazardous material
remediation and substructure removal of concrete decks, beams, and piers.
Harvard St. Bridge
Newton, MA
NASDI contracted to perform the two stage demolition
of the Harvard Street bridge deck over the Massachusetts Turnpike
in Newton, MA. The scope-of-work on this project involved removing
the reinforced concrete bridge deck while salvaging the existing steel
beams and shear connectors. . In accordance with the contractual terms
of the MTA and MASSDOT, Work was performed at night.
Route 114 Bridge Bridge Replacement
Barrington, RI
NASDI, LLC performed the selective demolition of this 600’ wooden bridge, that spanned the Warren River in Barrington, Rhode Island. The wooden bridge was a temporary structure employed for two years during construction of the new bridge. NASDI removed and saved the entire wood and steel frame super structure intact. All materials where shipped back to the Rhode Island DOT storage facility for future use. The concrete pile caps and the steel piles where removed in their entirety as well. This project was completed on schedule and within budget. All work was performed within the Rhode Island DOT parameters.
